Estimating the confidence intervals for DEA efficiency scores of Asia-Pacific airlines

چکیده
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a popular non-parametric approach to examine performance and productivity of airlines; however, it could not provide statistical information such as confidence intervals on the estimated efficiency scores. We combined stochastic frontier DEA into single framework disentangle noise ‘pure’ inefficiency from scores accordingly for Monte-Carlo simulation verified that our novel model good alternative conventional well bootstrap DEA. Empirical application using Asia-Pacific airlines’ data (2008‒2015) shows after accounting random errors, sampled airlines performed during study period but their was declining, hence, there still room improvement.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Comparison of five introduced confidence intervals for the binomial proportion
So far many confidence intervals were introduced for the binomial proportion. In this paper, our purpose is comparing five well known based on their exact confidence coefficient and average coverage probability.

Since the original publication on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) by Charnes et al. (1978), a considerable amount of research publications have appeared in decision science literature, a significant portion of which focusing on efficiency and productivity in the banking sector. A comprehensive survey of bank efficiency studies could be found in Fethi and Pasiouras (2010). They have examined ban...
متن کاملStatistical Tests Based on Dea Efficiency Scores
This chapter is written for analysts and researchers who may use Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to statistically evaluate hypotheses about characteristics of production correspondences and factors affecting productivity. Contrary to some characterizations, it is shown that DEA is a full-fledged statistical methodology, based on the characterization of DMU efficiency as a stochastic variable. T...
متن کاملEstimating Entropy Rates with Bayesian Confidence Intervals
The entropy rate quantifies the amount of uncertainty or disorder produced by any dynamical system. In a spiking neuron, this uncertainty translates into the amount of information potentially encoded and thus the subject of intense theoretical and experimental investigation. Estimating this quantity in observed, experimental data is difficult and requires a judicious selection of probabilistic ...
